Quilters

History

Our quilters group was organized about 50 years ago. We met once or twice a month - but not on Monday - because that was wash day!

Quilts are made from donated clothing and fabric cut into blocks & sewn together at home. Sizes include baby, twin, full, & queen. The majority of quilts were sent to Lutheran World Relief and to Orphan Grain Train in the early years. For the past 15 years quilts have stayed within a 3-state area due to transportation costs.

Quilting is held every Monday from 1:00-4:00 pm in the church basement. Avast majority of the time is spent cutting blocks and tying finished quilts. Special dates/times are printed on the church calendar to give everyone a chance to participate.

Everyone is welcome to participate in any way they can. We have even enjoyed volunteers from other churches assisting with our mission. We just that you come with a love for missions and a heart for helping others in need.
